Where is the
business?
One of the most common
questions we are asked by our dealers is “where do we find the
business?” There is not one answer, but we have seen a few of
our dealers obtain success by going back to the basics of the
selling process – cold calling and canvassing….The web has
certainly changed the way we live, interact and sell our products,
we’ve all become accustomed to be ‘found’ by some search engine
and given an opportunity to pitch for new business. The problem
is that the web based business approach does not offer much of a
personal relationship so the main leverage becomes the
price! The fact that CIM USA saw an almost 20% increase in the
sales of high end metal plate embossers to non military customers
in 2006 can be attributed to a few dealers that decided to go back
to the basics of selling. They decided to look for new business
opportunities in their immediate area, make appointments with
prospective customers, have a face to face meeting and throw in a
demo if necessary as well. The efforts of these dealers paid
off and some were able to obtain new business for multiple
machines with the same customer. The need for product ID and
marking is ever increasing – you can be rest assured that there
are opportunities waiting for you in your area if you take a new
and proactive approach to selling which is……look for the
customer! | |
Continued Success in South America – Contactless
is Coming! CIM USA experienced a
significant growth in our business in South America in 2006. We
have seen this momentum continue into 2007 with many new orders
for both plastic card personalization systems and metal plate
marking systems.
We have amongst many new initiatives
solidified our relationships with new partners in Mexico and we
are involved in many new and exiting projects in the region in
collaboration with companies such as Gemalto and TechTrex. One of
the new areas where we see opportunities in 2007 is for
contactless card personalization – CIM now offers a fully
industrialized contactless personalization option on the Pro
Series line of equipment.
The non proprietary approach by
CIM allows the CIM hardware and operating software to easily
interface with 3rd party contactless applications and
devices.

LAS
VEGAS ASD/AMD TRADE SHOW
CIM USA will
be showing the M10 and MDT500 at the Associated Surplus Dealers
EXPO in Las Vegas, NV from February 25th through March 1,
2007. This is an annual show CIM has attended for the
last 4 years and it is dedicated to the Army Navy Surplus Dealers
in the USA. Since our 1st appearance at this show, we have
informed all of our dealers the high potential of selling
equipment to the Army Navy Surplus stores located within their
demographic areas. Every year since then, our dealers have gotten
orders for machines into this vertical market, and it is due to
sales people knocking on the doors of these establishments. Don’t
hesitate to stop into one of these stores as you are out and about
these days.
